If you have a business or store, having a water fountain will likely bring in more clientele and differentiate you from the competition. Having a visible water feature outside stores such as yoga studios, bookstores, coffee shops, salons can a positive impact on business. A water fountain will provide the perfect ambiance to a business where people like to gather and relax. Couples out on a romantic date will definitely appreciate a memorable fountain in any bar or restaurant.

Enrich Your Office Space Surroundings with a Garden Water Feature

You can enhance your business by putting in a garden fountain. An attractive feature such as this will make customers feel welcome to your office. In contrast to the more familiar fountains found in people’s homes, garden fountains installed in commercial areas should create a lasting impression as well as provide a warm, welcoming ambiance.

It is important to any business to get visitors and then also make a positive impression on them. It is not hard to create natural spaces in even the smallest of spaces by installing garden water fountains, attractive plants and flowers, among other things. Other work spaces are lucky enough to have the room to build a much bigger garden display. Sometimes only a little area of land is available to a business and they must find a way to make a lasting impact with what they have.

It all boils down to the need to bring in new business and make an immediate positive impression. An attractive garden fountain is like having a welcoming committee for new clients outside your office at all times.

Sculpture As a Staple of Classic Art in Ancient Greece

The first freestanding sculpture was improved by the Archaic Greeks, a distinguished success since until then the only carvings in existence were reliefs cut into walls and pillars.

Most of these freestanding sculptures were what is known as kouros figures, statues of young, attractive male or female (kore) Greeks. The kouroi, considered by the Greeks to portray beauty, had one foot extended out of a fixed forward-facing pose and the male statues were always unclothed, with a compelling, powerful shape. Life-sized versions of the kouroi appeared beginning in 650 BC. During the Archaic period, a great time of changes, the Greeks were developing new forms of government, expressions of art, and a deeper understanding of people and cultures outside Greece. Throughout this time and other times of historic tumult, clashes often occurred, including wars fought amongst city-states such as the Arcadian wars and the Spartan infiltration of Samos.

Aqueducts: The Remedy to Rome's Water Troubles

With the building of the very first raised aqueduct in Rome, the Aqua Anio Vetus in 273 BC, individuals who lived on the city’s foothills no longer had to rely solely on naturally-occurring spring water for their requirements. Over this time period, there were only two other techniques capable of offering water to elevated areas, subterranean wells and cisterns, which gathered rainwater. From the beginning of the sixteenth century, water was routed to Pincian Hill by using the subterranean channel of Acqua Vergine. As originally constructed, the aqueduct was provided along the length of its channel with pozzi (manholes) constructed at regular intervals. The manholes made it less demanding to maintain the channel, but it was also possible to use buckets to remove water from the aqueduct, as we saw with Cardinal Marcello Crescenzi when he bought the property from 1543 to 1552, the year he died. It appears that, the rainwater cistern on his property wasn’t sufficient to satisfy his needs. To give himself with a much more practical means to assemble water, he had one of the manholes exposed, giving him access to the aqueduct below his residence.

Consider Getting a Stand-Alone Water Element for Your Yard

Stand-alone fountains are perfect for anyone looking for affordability and flexibility. You do not need to have any additional components because they all come included with the instructions for your fountain. There is another use for the label “self-contained”, a reference to a fountain that has its own water reservoir.

Given that they do not need much work to install, self-contained fountains are perfect for patios and porches. Since they are easily moveable, it is easy to change their location whenever you want.

The landscaper will first inspect that the place where you want your fountain to go is flat. Do not worry if the land is not even, your landscaper can usually even it out. The following step is to put your water feature in place and add some water. Last but not least, connect it to a solar panel, a wall outlet, or batteries, and it should be good to go.

Anyone who does not have easy access to a wellspring or external plumbing should think about a self-contained fountain. Although a fountain can be a focal point anywhere in a garden, many people put them in the center. Cast stone, metal, ceramic, and fiberglass are just a few of the materials used to produce them.
