Free Water Fountains in Berkley, Ca

The first US city to pass a tax on high calorie drinks was Berkley, California in February 2014. ft-241__91197.jpg The tax is intended to reduce sugary drink consumption and boost the consumption of healthier drinks, including water from fountains. Research was conducted to guarantee that residents of all races and economic classes had access to thoroughly clean, working drinking fountains. Important information on the city’s drinking water fountains were gathered using a GPS created exclusively for the research. The US Census Community Study database was used to compile information pertaining to race and economic status in these segments. The professionals looked to use both data sets to figure out if demographics were linked to drinking water fountain access. Each water fountain and the demographics of its nearby area were studied to reveal whether the site of the fountains or their standard of maintenance demonstrated any connection to income, race, or other points. The tidiness of many fountains was found wanting, even if most were functioning.

Why Your Pets and Visiting Birds Relish Water Fountains

Anyone who has bird feeders knows that outdoor water fountains bring in wildlife. The truth is that birds need water to: drink, bathe and preen. Birds such as robins, thrushes, orioles, or warblers are normally attracted to the active water of fountains. Many flying creatures appreciate running water rather than of still water, thus making such outdoor features much more appealing than bowl shaped birdbaths. Birds can hear the trickling and splashing and are even more likely to come visit.

Dogs are attracted to fountains because they provide fresh water to drink. Hot days cause dogs and cats to anxiously look for the freshest water nearby. Consistently moving water is also going to require much less cleaning than a still bowl of water from a birdbath, which collects debris.

How Fountains can be Good for the Environment

Are you looking to adorn your backyard? Well, you can add that special touch and augment the value of your home just by adding a solar run water fountain. They offer all the valuable benefits of electric fountains, such as improving health and general well-being but they also provide tremendous financial perks. Despite initial expenses, the long-term expense for this type of fountain is worth it. Electrical power shortages will no longer impede utilizing your fountain since it will run on the energy of the sun.

Your monthly electric bill will most likely increase with running water fountains. Keep in mind that while you may not see any advantages right away, your home will be worth more down the road.

Spending more money on our electric bills is not the only downside - the environment is highly impacted too.

Solar powered water fountains are a good option to becoming “green”. Using solar power to run a water feature is not only favorable to our environment but it also heats and cools our homes.

This type of fountain needs less upkeep than others. Since these do not function using an electric generator that could clog up with clutter, they need little cleaning. Which ultimately means more time to relax in your yard.

The Magnificent Cascade Water Fountain at Chatsworth Garden

At the rear of Chatsworth House, the Cascade garden water fountain creates a stunning focal point to the gardens. Twenty-four irregularly spaced stone steps reach down the hillside for 200 yards towards the residence. Entirely gravity fed, the Cascade too is founded on a 17th century French concept. Created for the first Duke of Devonshire in 1696, this water fountain has remained unchanged ever since. At the top of the fountain, from which water runs downward, stands the Cascade House. A small structure, the house is decorated on the external side with sea creatures in bas-relief. Water pressure to the Cascade can be boosted on certain instances, causing the Cascade House to become part of the Cascade display, as water passes through conduits on its roof and from the jaws of its carved sea creatures, before carrying on along the Cascade. The sound of the water plunging differs as it descends down the Cascades because of the small variance in the size of each step thereby creating a fantastic and calming accompaniment to a walk through the gardens. This cascade was chosen in a survey, carried out by Country Life in 2004, as England'sbest water feature.

Chatsworth: The "Revelation" Water Fountain

The well-known British sculptor Angela Conner created the Chatsworth ornamental outdoor water feature called “Revelation.” The now deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire mandated her, because of her work in brass and steel, to make a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth in celebration of the Queen’s 80th birthday. One of Chatsworth’s most well-known ponds, Jack Pond, had “Revelation” mounted in it in 1999. It takes the configuration of four big petals crafted from steel which open and close with the water movement, alternately camouflaging and exposing a gold colored globe at the sculpture’s center. Standing five meters high and five meters wide, the globe was crafted from metal and then painted with gold dust. This most recent fountain is an exciting and innovative addition to the Chatsworth Gardens, unique in that the motion of the flower petals is entirely driven by water.
