Choosing the Perfect Place for Your Water Feature

When you are choosing a water fountain, be sure to give some thought to where you will install it. Any high-traffic areas such as driveways, entryways, or roundabouts are ideal spots to install one.

There are models such as wall fountains made especially to be positioned against a flat surface. To secure one against a wall, look for a bar or hook on the back made exactly for this purpose. Such fountains are not stable on their own, therefore, be certain to affix it right away so that it does not topple over as a result of weather conditions, animals or other natural occurrences.

In open-air places like parks where people tend to sit and relax for a few minutes, you will notice one other option – the garden sculpture style.

The Famed Revelation Fountain at the Gardens of Chatsworth

Angela Conner, the reputable British sculptor, designed “Revelation,” the newest addition to the ornamental exterior fountains of Chatsworth. She was mandated by the now deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire to create a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth, in 2004/5 in celebration of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebration. “Revelation” was added in 1999 in Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s first ponds. Alternatively concealing and displaying a golden globe at the sculpture’s heart, the metallic water feature takes on the shape of four large petals which open and close with the movement of water. The sculpture’s proportions are five meters high by five meters wide and features a steel globe painted with gold dust. This latest fountain is a fascinating addition to the Chatsworth Gardens because the petals’ movement is completely run by water.

Enhance Your Office Surroundings with a Garden Fountain

Your commercial atmosphere can benefit with a garden fountain. Welcome clientele to your business with this type of beautiful element. Offices, in contrast to residential areas, need outdoor fountains that are both impressive as well as inviting to customers and staff alike.

Important to the success of any business, they are a way to entice new customers and make a positive first impression. Do not worry if you only have a small space, including a garden water fountain and some beautiful flowers will go a long way.

Other work spaces are fortunate enough to have the area to build a much bigger garden display. However, there are countless business spaces that must make do with much smaller areas.

In the end, the main goal is to design an atmosphere that attracts new interest in your business. Your garden fountain will act much like a welcoming embrace to new clients considering working with your firm.

The Best Way to Hang a Wall Fountain

Enhance nearly any space with the addition of a wall fountain. Serenity and relaxation will fill the room due to the pleasant sound of the waterfall. People tend to hang wall fountains in any area where folks hang out, but most commonly in foyers. How to mount one varies somewhat depending on the model, but there are some general instructions that apply to all of them. Note that different components will need to be put together during assembly. It will be necessary to connect the pump and tubing, and the base will need to be secured to the top part. Do not forget to review the directions before getting started in order to avert errors. The set-up work is quite easy to understand. Be aware, though, that the model you have might call for a somewhat different process. The easiest way to make sure it is positioned correctly is to recruit another person to hold it where you want it while you mark the wall. To ensure a straight line, use a level. Mark the spot where you want the upper end of the wall fountain as well as the lower part. Your wall fountain can be hung in one of two ways. You can place the screws in the wall and glide them into the holes on the back of the wall fountain. Alternatively, you could attach brackets to the wall and use those. This last one is the more advisable way, especially if your fountain is large. Decide where the brackets need to be positioned and mark the wall as required. Use a drill to make the pilot holes on the wall for your drywall anchors. Carefully tap on the anchors with a hammer to insert them into the wall.

Attach the brackets by making sure they are level and then screwing them into the wall with a drill or screwdriver. Mount your wall fountain by hanging it onto the brackets. Check to see that it is in the proper position and secure on the brackets. Put in water once the wall fountain is mounted. The pump should be completely immersed under water. The water will start to circulate as soon as you plug in your fountain. Slowly add more water until it comes within an inch of the top of the basin. Never fill the basin all the way to the top or it will overflow whenever the pump is not on. Whenever the water is not being pumped, it all settles at the bottom causing the water level to rise. If there is too much water, it will spill out and can harm your floor and furnishings.

Why Your Your Four-Legged Friends and Visiting Birds Enjoy Water Fountains

Anyone who has bird feeders knows that outdoor water fountains bring in wildlife. All birds need a place to drink, bathe and preen. Birds such as robins, thrushes, orioles, or warblers are usually enticed to the flowing water of fountains. Many birds prefer flowing water versus standing water, making an outdoor fountain even more enticing than a bowl-shaped bird bath.

Birds are greatly attracted to the trickling and splashing music produced.

Dogs love fountains because they provide another place to drink fresh water. During scorching months of summer, cats and dogs will be outdoors for the absolute freshest water around. Fountains generally need little cleaning due to their constantly flowing water, whereas birdbaths need to be regularly maintained because they easily collect debris.
