The Last Inclusion to the Gardens of Chatsworth: "Revelation" Fountain

Designed by well-known English sculptor Angela Conner, Revelation is the latest addition to the Chatsworth ornamental garden water fountains. The late 11th Duke of Devonshire commissioned her, because of her work in brass and steel, to create a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth in celebration of the Queen’s 80th birthday. “Revelation” was put up in 1999 in Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s earliest ponds. Alternatively hiding and exposing a gold colored globe at the sculpture’s center, the steel water feature takes on the shape of four large petals that open and close with the flow of water. A gold dust painted steel globe was created and incorporated to the big sculpture standing five meters high and five meters wide. twf037-al__92279.jpg This latest water fountain is a fascinating addition to the Chatsworth Gardens because the petals’ motion is entirely powered by water.

Designing the Ideal Sanctuary Indoors or Outside

One easy way to create a tranquil and relaxing area is to put in a feng shui fountain. This can be accomplished rather simply with a garden or home waterfall. They are the best addition to your property. The ideal location for your outdoor fountain is a spot where you can see it from indoors too.

Do not forget to add plants, as they have an important impact on the charm of a water fountain. Select plants that keep their beauty year-round. Attractive stones, statues, or a fireplace are also nice add-ons.

Striking Backyard Multi-Tiered Water Features

For many years now now, multi-tiered fountains have been popular, most notably in gardens. These kinds of fountains are widespread in Italy, Spain, and other Mediterranean countries. Piazzas and building courtyards are very common places where you will see tiered fountains. All multi-level fountains are alluring, although some have much more elaborate carvings than others.

Although they can be found just about anywhere, they seem particularly at home in more classic settings. The fountain should look as old as the rest of the area and blend in accordingly.

Recommendations for Installing an Outdoor Water Element

When planning where to set up your garden fountain, do not forget that you will need somewhere to plug it in and a convenient source of water. The practical side of setting one up is often neglected because people get so focused on the wonder of it. Do not forget that an extension cord can be helpful if your 120v power source is more than 12 feet away, as that is the standard length of power cords. It will be necessary to replenish your fountain with water so make sure there is a source of water nearby. Carrying large amounts of water requires strength so you do not want to have to haul it a long way. The easiest way to fill the fountain is with a nearby hose.

A water fountain autofill is yet another solution, but will require the help of an expert who knows how to set it up since the water has to go through an external line.

Putting up a Wall Water Fountain in Your House

Just about any space will benefit from the addition of a wall fountain. Peace and calmness will fill the room due to the soothing sound of the waterfall. People tend to hang wall fountains in any area where folks meet, but most commonly in foyers. Although the instructions for hanging one are fairly straightforward there will be small modifications depending on the model. Be sure that all the different pieces are used in building it. You should first attach the foundation to the upper part, then connect the pump and the tubing. Do not forget to review the directions before getting started in order to avert problems. It is normally a straight-forward process. Note, however, that the instructions for your specific model can vary slightly. Have a friend hold the wall fountain in the desired location, then mark the wall appropriately. A level is the best tool to ensure it is hung straight. Put your markings at both the top and the bottom. Wall features can be hung in more than just one way. There are holes on the back which can be placed onto the screws you put on the wall.

A second option is go with brackets secured on the wall. This alternative tends to be suggested for heavy wall fountains. Determine where the brackets will be and then mark the appropriate location on the wall. Use a drill to make the pilot holes on the wall for your drywall anchors. Insert the anchors by carefully hammering them into the wall. The brackets can then be mounted on the wall using a screwdriver or wireless drill. It is now time to put your wall fountain onto the mounting brackets. Check to see that it is in the correct position and safely on the brackets. Put in water once the wall fountain is ready. The pump should be totally immersed under water. It is now time to plug it in and watch the water flow. Slowly add more water until it comes within an inch of the top of the basin.

The basin will overflow when the pump is off if it is too full, so be sure not to fill it completely. The water level will rise because all of the circulating water will settle down at the bottom of the basin. Harm can be caused if the water is overly full and flows down your wall.
