Add the Energy of Feng Shui into Your Yard

Introduce feng shui design to the layout of your yard so it can bring energy into your household.

As far as the size of your garden goes, it is not particularly important when incorporating feng shui design to it. A huge area is great for those privileged enough to have it, but a more compact area can still be useful in feng shui design.

The primary feng shui tools can be utilized for your interior decor as well as your garden design. ft_151__48029.jpg Your yard's bagua, or energy map, is an extension of your home’s bagua, so it is important to determine your home’s first.

It is also essential to know the five elements in the theory of feng shui and how best to use each one to make the most of its energy.

The northeast corner of your garden, for instance, connects to personal growth and self-cultivation energy, and Earth is the feng shui element that is necessary to incorporate it. The ideal addition to the northeast corner of your yard might be a tranquil Zen garden decorated with natural stone, as they represent the Earth element in feng shui.

Southeast (money and abundance), East (health & family), and North (career & path in life) are feng shui areas ideal for a water feature.

The Advantages of Water Elements to Your Daily Life

Any space can be improved by the sights, sounds and improved air quality produced by outdoor fountains. Along with the many health benefits they provide, they also create an environment which your friends and family will enjoy. In the end though, you will most likely enjoy certain benefits your fountain will give only to you. It could be that it takes you back to a special place you once visited. It might bring back memories of that special person. You could also make it a monument to a special loved one. In any case, it is something you will enjoy for many years to come.

An Absolute Roman Wonder: The Santa Maria Fountain in Cosmedin

Remarkable finds of both Christian and pagan roots have been made by archaeologists and restorers in the area of Santa Maria in Cosmedin in Rome. The Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth} is a recognized marble sculpture located at the entrance of the nearby basilica. The situation of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin fountain (1719) was not in a well-known neighborhood and was, therefore, not often visited. Since the nearby area was depressing and mostly uninhabited, visitors were not particularly interested in visiting it. As part of an effort to revitalize the piazza outside the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin, the Italian architect Carlo Bizzaccheri was instructed by Pope Clement XI to design a fountain. The work of laying down the church’s first stones started on August 17, 1717.

Medals bearing the images of the Blessed Virgin, for whom the church is named, and of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of water, were thrown in the foundation following the consecration of the first stone.

Eco-Friendly Fountains: Good for the Environment

Are you looking to beautify your backyard? Stop looking! Solar water fountains are the perfect solution - they bring elegance to any home and at the same time add financial value to the property. You get all the advantages of an electric fountain, as well as other financial benefits and an overall betterment to your health. While your initial expenditures may be higher, the long-term savings are great. Electrical power shortages will no longer hinder using your fountain since it will run on the energy of the sun.

Running water fountains means that your use of electricity will increase and thus your monthly bill. Keep in mind that while you may not notice any advantages right away, your home will be worth more further down the road.

Higher costs is not the only problem with using more electricity, the environment takes a big hit as well. The only source of energy used by solar powered water features is the sun making them a “green” option. The environment can only benefit from the use of solar powered homes and water fountains.

This type of fountain needs less upkeep than others. Since solar fountains don't have motors, they don't get clogged which leads to less cleaning. Which ultimately means more time to relax in your yard.

The Defining Characteristics of Classic Greek Statuary

The initial freestanding sculpture was designed by the Archaic Greeks, a distinguished achievement since until then the sole carvings in existence were reliefs cut into walls and pillars. Most of the freestanding statues were of youthful, winsome male or female (kore) Greeks and are termed kouros figures. The kouroi, regarded by the Greeks to represent beauty, had one foot stretched out of a strict forward-facing posture and the male figurines were regularly unclothed, with a compelling, powerful build. Life-sized versions of the kouroi appeared beginning in 650 BC. Throughout the Archaic period, a big time of changes, the Greeks were evolving new forms of government, expressions of art, and a better comprehension of people and cultures outside Greece. Equivalent to many other periods of historical unrest, disagreements were commonplace, and there were battles between city-states like The Arcadian wars, the Spartan invasion of Samos.

Presenting Stand-Alone Garden Water Features

Self-contained fountains are perfect for anyone looking for affordability and adaptability. Since all pieces are included with the fountain, no extra parts are required. Fountains that feature their own water resource are also referred to as “self-contained”.

Self-contained fountains are quick to install making them perfect for anyone looking for a patio fountain. They are also not difficult to move from place to place.

Once you decide where you want to set upyour fountain, your landscaper should verify that it is not too bumpy or uneven. Any holes and bumps can quickly be leveled by your landscaper. Your water feature is now prepared for setup and the addition of water. Last but not least, connect it to a solar panel, a wall socket, or batteries, and it should be good to go.

The best alternative for anyone who wants mobility and does not want to use external plumbing or water source is a self-contained fountain. The center of a garden is a favorite spot for a water fountain so as to get the most visibility, even though they can be placed anywhere. A variety of common materials can be used for fountains including cast stone, metal, ceramic, and fiberglass.
