If you want to make your porch, patio, or back yard even more relaxing, think about getting an outdoor garden fountain. Outdoor water features can further improve even the most enchanting space. It can be installed on the exterior wall of your house above the patio, or even on the interior wall of a screened porch. Add charm and the lovely music of babbling water to your flower bed with a tiered model. You will notice lots of birds visiting your garden if you add a birdbath fountain, as the water stays fresher than still water since it is continuously flowing. Perfect your garden area with the calm sound of flowing water.

Factors to Know When Installing a Garden Water Fountain

When considering where to install your garden fountain, do not overlook the fact that you will need somewhere to plug it in and a convenient source of water. People sometimes forget the technical details because they get caught up in the excitement of installing their newest purchase.

Do not forget that an extension cord can be helpful if your 120v power source is more than 12 feet away, as that is the typical length of power cords. A convenient place to get water is vital since you will need to fill your fountain. Carrying large amounts of water requires strength so you do not want to have to haul it a long way. If you have given thought to it before installation, having a hose close by will make the task of filling the fountain much simpler. A water fountain autofill is an even better alternative, but will demand the help of an expert who knows how to set it up since the water has to go through an external line.

Contemporary Statuary in Early Greece

Although the majority of sculptors were remunerated by the temples to adorn the sophisticated columns and archways with renderings of the gods of old, as the period came to a close, it became more prevalent for sculptors to portray ordinary people as well because plenty of Greeks had begun to think of their religion as superstitious rather than sacred. Rich families would often times commission a rendering of their forefathers for their large family burial tombs; portraiture also became frequent and would be appropriated by the Romans upon their acquisition of Greek society. A time of aesthetic progression, the use of sculpture and other art forms transformed during the Greek Classical period, so it is inaccurate to suggest that the arts provided only one function. Whether to fulfill a visual desire or to commemorate the figures of religion, Greek sculpture was an imaginative practice in the ancient world, which may be what attracts our focus today.

Pond Water Features: The Jewel in Your Own Yard

Most people think of the impressive masterpieces that adorn the front of public buildings when they think of fountains. That said, in reality they can be made of any style and size, and do not only belong in public areas. You might even find a place in your own garden area for a beautiful pond fountain.

Two key benefits can result from setting up one of your own. One is the feeling of calm and loveliness that fountains contribute. What better way to wind down than to listen to the trickle of water and soak up its charm. A bit of luxury and charm will also be added to the area. Additionally, when you have friends over, they will want to hang out around your gorgeous fountain, making your gatherings even more fun.

Secondly, the fish in your pond will have healthier water if you add this kind of water feature.

A pond fountain will aerate the water by keeping it in motion, which is fantastic for fish. The better-oxygenated and constantly circulating water will ensure your fish are alive for a long time. You should see heartier plants too.

Relish the Beauty of the Cascade Fountain at the Garden of Chatsworth

At the rear of Chatsworth House, the Cascade garden fountain creates a dazzling focal point to the gardens. Stretching down the hillside for 200 yards towards the residence is a group of twenty-four irregularly spread stone steps. The Cascade is founded on a 17th century French layout and is completely gravity fed as well. Remaining unmodified since its inception, this water fountain was originally created for the very first Duke of Devonshire in 1696. Standing at the peak of the fountain is the Cascade House, from which water streams downward. The building, decorated on the outside with marine creatures in bas-relief, is actually a small construction. Water pressure to the Cascade can easily be boosted on certain instances, causing the Cascade House to become an essential element of the Cascade display, as water moves through conduits on its roof and from the jaws of its carved marine creatures, prior to continuing down the Cascade. The shape of every single step was made slightly different and means that the sound of the water falling differs as it descends the Cascades, offering a superb and soothing accompaniment to a walk through the gardens. In 2004, Chatsworth's Cascade was voted the best water fountain in England.

The Latest Inclusion to the Chatsworth Gardens: "Revelation" Fountain

“Revelation,” the newest addition to the decorative outdoor fountains of Chatsworth, was planned by renowned British sculptor Angela Conner. She was delegated by the deceased 11th Duke of Devonshire to create a limited edition bust of Queen Elizabeth, in 2004/5 in commemoration of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebration. In 1999 Revelation was set up in Jack Pond, one of Chatsworth’s oldest ponds. The four large metallic petals open and close with the flow of water, alternately camouflaging and showing a gold colored globe at the sculpture’s center. Standing five meters high and five meters wide, the globe was made from metal and then coated with gold dust.

This most recent fountain is a fascinating addition to the Chatsworth Gardens because the petals’ movement is completely run by water.
